Unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of cannabis or CBD products. CBD is based on cannabis and is used for various purposes. These products have grown increasingly popular in the last few years and many industries and brands have also welcomed its adoption. However, NASCAR still remains reluctant. It has still prohibited the use of cannabis or CBD products. However, things might change.

Will NASCAR finally adopt cannabis or CBD products? Read on to find out.

Benefits of CBD

The benefits that CBD products bring are manifold. Studies have concluded that it is effective for epilepsy patients, has pain-relieving properties, and is also anti-inflammatory. Additionally, it also contains therapeutic properties for dealing with addiction, anxiety, and depression. Specifically, for patients dealing with arthritis, most are willing to try anything to take away the pain and discomfort.

Generally, CBD products require a prescription due to the high potency. In many studies, CBD products have been shown to remarkably reduce the pain and discomfort associated with these conditions without any psychoactive effects.

However, the main challenge to CBD products is that a large number of people are still uneducated about it. Most people have a misconception of the negative effects ignoring the largely positive outcomes. Not just that, many people confuse it with marijuana just because of the cannabis content without properly understanding the difference between the two products. What most people don’t seem to understand is that there is no evidence to date that associates CBD use with health-related ailments.

CBD Future in NASCAR

As of now, NASCAR doesn’t host any CBD advertisers and have refrained from allowing any cannabis products. If a CBD manufacturer or brand wants to advertise their products with NASCAR, they’ll have to go through laboratory testing to determine if there are any traces of THC. If it has any traces, the product is automatically disqualified and will not be considered for advertisement. Even if it does pass the test, there are still a lot of procedures to be followed through.

In case there are no THC contents, it’s still unlikely that the television broadcasters will allow the CBD brand to be displayed on the car or the league may not allow it as well. There are some criteria that need to be met.

However, times may change as NASCAR depends heavily on sponsorship. Keeping in mind this factor, it’s illogical for NASCAR not to sponsor a product that an increasingly huge number of households are easily purchasing through their local CVs. It’s high time that they capitalize on this market.

NASCAR, in line with many US sports, allow alcohol promotion and alcohol can be even more deadly than cannabis or CBD products if used excessively. It’s quite illogical that CBD products are prohibited and alcohol sponsorship is allowed. Alcohol products has some very obvious drawbacks and negative influences. However, CBD products contain many positive effects which is backed by medical science and no know negative consequences have been determined as of now. So it’s unreasonable to not consider such an amazing product.

It’s quite well known that NASCAR teams require funds and sponsorship to stay afloat and maintain their business. The sponsorship and revenue pouring from CBD involvement in the sport can be hugely beneficial for the teams and to the sport as well. Similarly, the CBD industry can also take advantage of the intensely loyal audience of NASCAR as well as the massive platform that NASCAR can offer to bring in brand awareness and educate potential customers on the products and the manifold positive effects it can bring. The opportunity is highly advantageous to both parties and primarily the sport has a lot to gain by capitalizing on such a rapidly enlarging industry. There’s really nothing to lose.

Conclusion:

Sooner or later, NASCAR will realize the importance of banking on CBD products and it provides ample benefits. It’s critical that NASCAR reaches out to an industry that is increasingly reaching the homes of many.
